Stronger Foundations, Better Results
Ross Holland started practicing yoga several years ago in New York while recuperating from a lower back injury. He was initially drawn to the physical aspects of yoga and began a regular practice. Having led a stressful career as an attorney and owner of a construction business he quickly realized that there is a lot more to yoga than just the asanas. He believes that practice of yoga has led him on a continuing journey of self realization and awareness.
Ross is a proud alumnus of the Aananda Yoga Teacher Training Program. He appreciates the exposure to the various yoga disciplines that the program provides. In August 2013 Ross completed a 500 hour mentoring program with Leslie Glickman of Yoga Journey.
While working towards his 500 hour certification, Ross took an Iyengar yoga class with Colleen Gallagher and was hooked immediately. Shorty after obtaining his 500 hour certification he commenced training with Colleen Gallagher, the senior Iyengar yoga teacher in Florida, with the goal of becoming a certified Iyengar method teacher.
In addition to studying with Colleen Gallagher, Ross has attended workshops with other senior Iyengar teachers including Manouso Manos, Gabriella Giubilaro, and James Murphy. Ross recently attended his first national Iyengar convention taught by Abhijata Sridhar, the granddaughter of BKS Iyengar.
Ross has been studying and practicing Iyengar yoga for approximately 3.5 years and expects to become a Certified Iyengar Teacher in Fall 2016.
